Since July 2020, teachers, students, and the community have pushed to get cops off of San Jose Unified School District's campuses. Derrick Sanderlin lends his name to this community resolution to ensure the safety and well being of black and brown students. Despite multiple sessions of studying racial disparities in schools, the SJUSD's board has continued to shelve the discussion of ending its contracts with SJPD.
